Richard Dickson

Richard Dickson - Kenilworth St John's

Richard was born in Warwickshire and has lived in Kenilworth St John’s area for 33 years. His three daughters attended the town’s State primary and secondary schools. Working with others to help create thriving communities in Kenilworth, has seen Richard actively involved as a school governor, a trustee of several local charities and a campaigner for better facilities for both young and older residents. In 2017 Richard was the first-ever Liberal Democrat elected in St John’s. When Mayor in 2020/21 he helped lead the local response to the pandemic. Since mid-2024 he’s led the calls for the County Council to come clean about the delays and £16 million cost overruns at the £40 million A46 ‘Bridge To Nowhere’ at Stoneleigh junction and the two year delay in the £6 million Special Educational Needs facilities at St John’s Primary School. After a 40 year career in business, the international charity sector and higher education, he’s stopping work in 2025 to focus full-time on his work as a Councillor.
